Drag to turn the stone

Engagement rings, made to order

Made to be looked at for fifty years.

One stone, chosen with you and set by hand. Start with a design appointment and leave with a ring drawn for one person.

Four decisions

Every diamond is graded on the same four things. Here is what each one changes when you look at the ring, not the certificate.

Cut

How much light comes back to you.

The one decision you can see from across a room. A well cut stone sends light back up through the top; a poor one leaks it out the bottom. We start every design here.

Colour

From icy white to a soft warmth.

Graded from D, fully colourless, downward. Many couples choose G or H: they face up white once set and cost less than D. Yellow and rose metal make warmth harder to notice.

Clarity

Tiny marks inside the stone.

Almost every diamond has them. What matters is whether you can see them without a loupe. We call that eye-clean, and we check every stone by eye before we show it to you.

Carat

Weight, not size.

A round stone grows from about 5.1 mm to about 8.1 mm across between half a carat and two. Two stones of the same weight can look different sizes, so we talk in millimetres too.

From drawing to hand

Four steps, one ring. You approve each one before we start the next.

  1. 01

    Drawing

We sketch the ring with you at the first appointment, then send you two drawn directions to choose from.

Once you pick one, we print it in wax so you can try the proportions on your hand.

  2. 02

    Sourcing

We find stones to your brief and show you two or three side by side, in daylight, each with its grading report.

You choose the stone. We never set one you have not seen.

  3. 03

    Setting

The band is cast, then the stone is set by hand under magnification, one prong at a time, so it sits level and secure.

  4. 04

    Finishing

Polished, checked against the approved drawing, and handed over with its grading report and a written valuation.

Typical time from drawing to hand: four to six weeks.

Budget guide

Put in a total for the ring and see a realistic shape and size. Illustrative only: at your appointment we quote from real stones.

Stone

Most face-up size for this budget

Illustrative guide, not a quote. It assumes G to H colour, VS clarity and an excellent cut, and sets aside about $1,300 for a simple solitaire setting. Price rates and currency conversions are rough. Stone size shown at scale against the ruler.

    Where

Care and warranty, in plain words

    What the warranty covers
Faults in the metal and the setting, for as long as you own the ring. If a prong fails through wear, we repair it.
    What it does not cover
Loss, theft and damage from knocks. For those you need insurance, so we give you a written valuation to send to your insurer.
    Free check and clean
Bring the ring in once a year. We check every prong, tighten what needs it and polish it while you wait.
    Resizing
One resize is included in the first year. Some designs cannot be resized, and we tell you before you order.
    At home
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush. Dry with a lint-free cloth. Take the ring off for the gym, swimming and gardening.
    Returns
Each ring is made for you, so it cannot be returned. You approve the drawing and the wax model before we set the stone, so there are no surprises at handover.
