Container Watch

Container status pulled from the carrier page you already use.

Tracks the containers you enter on the carrier or terminal site and tells you when the status moves.

Not on the Chrome Web Store yet. The listing goes live the day it is approved, and this page updates with it.

Who it is for

Anyone chasing the same container numbers across several carrier portals.

What you get

  • Status changes on the container numbers you add
  • Estimated and actual arrival dates
  • Hold, release and availability flags
  • Containers spread across different carrier sites

How it works

  1. Open the carrier or terminal tracking page.
  2. Add the container numbers you want followed.
  3. It re-checks each one on your schedule.
  4. You get told when a status or date changes, not every time it checks.

What it does not do

It reads the tracking page in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server of mine.

Permissions

Every permission the extension asks for, and the reason for it. Nothing else is requested.

Permissions requested by Container Watch, and the reason for each one
PermissionWhy it is needed
storageSaves your searches, the items you are watching and the last result seen, so the extension can tell what is new. Stored locally in your browser.
alarmsSchedules the background re-check on the interval you choose. Without it the extension could only check while you sat on the page.
notificationsShows a desktop notification when a watched page changes. No notification is sent anywhere else.
activeTabReads the page you have open at the moment you click the extension icon, so it can save the search or item you are looking at.
scriptingReads the result list out of the page you saved. It only runs on the sites you added, and only to read.
host permissionsLimited to the portal domains you add yourself. The extension does not request access to all sites.

Pricing

Pricing set at launch
